DISTRIBUTION OF REFERENCE AGE

The data for these plots can be found in CSV format here.
This page shows plots of distribution of reference age relative to the age of citing papers from 27 collections of papers covering various subjects. The papers were collected from ISI's Web of Science product in the period from January 2002 to December 2003 by using queries and seed references.

The plots shows the number of citations to references from papers in the last full year in the collection. For example, if the collection was acquired in mid-2002, then citations from papers in 2001 are plotted. The plots show the number of citations to references by age of reference.

x-axis is age of references in years, y-axis is number of citations to references of age x. References published in the same year as the citing papers have age zero.
