DISTRIBUTION OF PAPERS PER AUTHOR

This page shows plots of the papers per author (Lotka's Law plots) distribution from 27 collections of papers covering various subjects. The papers were collected from ISI's Web of Science product in the period from January 2002 to December 2003 by using queries and seed references. The x axis is X = number of papers, the y axis is Y= fraction of authors publishing X papers. The red lines are Yule distributions calculated by finding alpha, the probability that an author will be new author, as the number authors divided by the number of authorships.
